First Entry Post

At the suggestion of my friend, Trav, I've created this bl0g. We were paddling tonight and as I was explaining my canoe trips and journal entries and brief attempts at posting on Wikipedia, he suggested I start one. The thing is, I got too much crap going on already. Three websites, three businesses, Facebook, Twitter, MobileMe accounts and the list continues. Jimmy E of course suggested a Podcast, but whoa, whoa; too much technology at once is an overdose of something I want little to do with. So we start here...........with the blog. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, but whatever.

Regardless, my goal in life is to paddle, and paddle hard (and often). From these paddles and journeys, I'll share information. Information for which I have attempted to share on Wikipedia until some encyclopedia nazi JERK got to protective of his own crap and started pulling my river updates to his so precious, yet BORING information that offers nothing in the likes of adventure. I don't even know how Wikipedia works, but whatever, screw him. We'll post here.

So tonight is the first post, with which I will say was a good trip. A 12 pack of ice cold Shandy's in handy and Envy, my canoe. Oh yeah, Slim, Jimmy E and Trav were there to. I'll get to the story about Envy later, but for now, tonights paddle was on the Contoocook River in Henniker. Ramsdell Bridge to River Road. A weasley 4.75 miles of slackwater to be exact. But a nice 4.75 miles. 85 degrees and sunny with ice cold Shandy's, how bad can it be? Only tonight I didn't have my camera. Sometimes you just want to paddle, you know?

We came across a couple Snapping Turtles, a dude in a OC1 solo with a double-blade fishing and 5 chics in kayaks drinking beer. Pretty cool as I've never seen other paddlers on this section of river, but especially 5 chics drinking beer. Rock on! We stayed dry, the water stayed wet and the beer stayed cold. Overall, a good night on the river.
